Performanssin parissa ty\u00f6skentelev\u00e4t naiset kuulevat usein olevansa vahvoja. Mit\u00e4 t\u00e4m\u00e4 vahvuus tarkoittaa? Onko se jokin elementti ty\u00f6skentelyss\u00e4 tai onko se jonkinlaista sietokyky\u00e4? Onko se kyky\u00e4 nousta konventioiden yl\u00e4puolelle tai katsoa asioita uudesta n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta? Onko se agressiivista uhmaa valtarakenteiden edess\u00e4, kiukkua joka auttaa jaksamaan? Vai onko naisten vahvuus sittenk\u00e4\u00e4n niin poikkeavaa miesten vahvuudesta? Illan aikan esiintyv\u00e4t taiteilijat vastaavat n\u00e4ihin kysymyksiin ty\u00f6skentelyss\u00e4\u00e4n.<\/p>\n PERFO!-performanssiklubi on luotu sopivaksi sekoitukseksi taidetta, musiikkia, milj\u00f6\u00f6t\u00e4 ja rentoa ilmapiiri\u00e4, jotta uuteen tutustumisen kynnys olisi mahdollisimman matalana. Tarkoitus ei ole s\u00e4ikytell\u00e4 yleis\u00f6\u00e4 korkeakulttuurisuuden tai kokeellisen taiteen m\u00e4\u00e4reill\u00e4 vaan enemm\u00e4nkin vietell\u00e4 mukaan kokeilemaan jotain uutta vapaamuotoisuuden ilmapiiriss\u00e4. Performance art event focuses on female performers with the theme Strong Women in Performance Art. In the program there are four performances and the evening is finished by a band of three women. PERFO!-club has been created as a balanced mixture of art, music, architecture and relaxed ambiance. It doesn’t want to scare the audience with contemporary or experimental art terms but to seduce the audience to try out something new in an informal atmosphere. The venue is Telakka in the center of Tampere. In PERFO!-klub the art and people come first and definitions afterwards. Chickens have played a strong part in her previous work. BilleNeeves approach to performance art is holistic. Every day she creates herself. Somedays more and some days less. She is herself is winterly art and her life is performance. She is something new and modern that can only take place in this terrible era. At the moment she is in light coloured, almost opaque era where she her white period ended. In her last art project she tried to destroy her inner chicken. Now she has embraced the existence of her animal side as part of herself. Saksofonista, rummuista ja kitarasta koostuva kokoonpano tykitt\u00e4\u00e4 kuulijan viidakosta Venukseen ja takaisin nopeammin, kuin Bootsy Collins ehtii sanoa “always play on one”. \nWomen that work with performance art often hear themselves depicted as being strong. What does this in fact mean? Is it some kind of quality in their work or is it some kind of resistance? Is it an ability to rise above conventions or look at world from a new perspective? Is it aggressive defiance that gives you strength to go on? Or is female strength in the end any different from male strength? Performers of the event answer these questions in their work.<\/p>\n
\nOfficially Helin\u00e4 Hukkataival started her performance career in June of 1990.
\nShe hesitated and thought about it but decided to do a performance in Helsinki, the window of Kioskigalleria, thinking that she didn’t want to regret lack of trying afterwards. There has been no reason to regret.
